Pumpkin Patch search

Who would have thought it would be SO hard to find a decent pumpkin patch in the Bay Area???
The first week-end in October, I dragged Sharkey & Madeleine off to the first patches in high hopes. Dashed. Straw thrown on the cement and a few pumpkins on the ground does NOT a pumpkin patch make.
However, the 'busts' in my opinion probably got Madeleine ready for when we found the real thing...

(We've gotten a LOT of mileage out of these 'costumes': they're PERFECT for the weather here ~ we'll throw one on over her clothes, and ready to go! :)

Last week-end, after the FOURTH pumpkin patch bust, Sharkey put his foot down and refused to go to any more.
Good thing Madeleine is a persuasive baby, or we wouldn't have found the Perfect Pumpkin Patch/Harvest Festival!!!
This place had it all: people in period costumes teaching kids how to make straw dolls, press cider, make cookies, etc. etc.

Success! :)

Picking out a pumpkin with Daddy

This didn't last long... Madeleine was MUCH more interested in the ROCKS in the patch than the pumpkins! (oh, well: to each his/her own... and i guess we DID meet in Geology Camp... ;>

Mimi will be proud!

Madeleine's favorite part: the Wagon Ride! =)

Looks like fun. Maybe your standards are too high, Em...You're not going to find an Olean pumpkin patch in San Francisco!!
